What is this tool?
Background Color Remover turns white, solid-color or near-solid image backgrounds into transparent PNG files in your browser. It samples a background color, removes matching connected pixels and keeps the output downloadable as PNG.
Image loading, clipboard paste, color sampling, background removal and PNG export all run locally in the browser. No image data is uploaded, requested by an API or saved to local storage.

FAQ
Is this an AI background remover?
No. This MVP removes a chosen background color with Canvas. It works best for white, solid-color and studio-style backgrounds, not complex hair or natural scenes.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is decoded and processed in your browser. The tool does not upload or store your file.
Why use connected background removal?
It removes matching background pixels that touch the image edge while protecting similar colors inside the subject.
Why is the output always PNG?
PNG supports transparency reliably in browsers, so the transparent result is exported as a PNG file.
