What is this ASCII art generator?
ASCII Art Generator samples a local image into a readable character composition. Choose a character set, output width, brightness direction and optional color preview, then copy plain text or export a PNG.
Images stay in your browser. Sampling, text generation and PNG rendering happen locally; the tool does not upload or store the source image.

FAQ
Is the output real text?
The plain-text output is made from normal characters and can be pasted into code, notes or chat. The colored preview is an HTML visual version.
Why does the result look stretched?
Characters are taller than they are wide. The tool compensates with a reduced sample height and a monospace preview.
Can I use Unicode blocks?
Yes. Choose the Unicode blocks preset for denser shading. Use classic ASCII when maximum portability matters.
